SUPPORTING INFORMAL WORKERS FOR DECENT WORK

Delhi-NCR

The purpose of the project is to enhance the understanding of workers, activists and scholars  about the various facets of the labour movement and labour strategies and their constraints and possibilities in the contemporary times.

The following activities are being undertaken as part of the project.

A. Organising a Centre for Labouring People (CLP) in Kapashera / Delhi – National Capital Region in order to spread awareness on capacity building, labour laws, labour rights and legal aid to the workers.

B. Conducting  research studies on garment and automobile sectors to understand response strategies with workers organisations, by bringing in dimensions of global value chains, community life and work relations.
 

C. Organising  a Digital Labour Archive  of India, with an especial focus on Delhi-NCR

D. Conducting regular Labour Dialogues with trade unions, labour historians, scholars and civil society organisations on different dimensions of work relations.
