West Asia, once the favourite destination of youth seeking employment, is now struggling to cope with the twin menace of religious fundamentalism, spearheaded by the IS, and the economic crisis aggravated by falling oil prices. These have turned into a nightmare for expatriate labourers. It has become an onerous task for the Indian government to evacuate labourers who are languishing in labour camps in countries like Saudi Arabia.
