Months after they were terminated, the Haryana government has decided to re-engage the services of guest teachers following a Supreme Court order. The state government had terminated services of 3,581 guest teachers after orders by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in May last year. This was followed by protests across the state even as the government assured that recruitment of teachers will be done within a few months. However, the process is yet to be completed. In November, the High Court allowed the government to re-employ teachers till March 31.
