The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has started an awareness drive for the working class across the State ahead of its 15th national conference scheduled to be held in Puri from November 26 to 30. As per the CITU leaders, the aim is to revitalise the labour movement in Odisha before this conference, which is to be attended by around 2,500 delegates from all over the country. Preparatory committees for the conference have been formed in all districts of the state. These committees will work to create awareness among the working class about anti-labour policies of the Central and State governments. Seminars on issues related to the labour class will be organised in all districts in the upcoming months. These efforts would also be a preparatory work for the nationwide strike to be held by trade unions on September 2.
