Labour Dialogue: Addressing Child Labour in Industrial Value Chains and Beyond

[Child Labour - Activity Reports]

On the occasion of World Day against Child Labour, we are organising a Labour Dialogue to understand the challenges in achieving ‘Social Justice for All, by Ending Child Labour!’ We are especially interested in understanding the reasons for wide prevalence of child labour and the challenges in tracing and monitoring child labour practices at the various nodes of industrial supply chains. How effective are current national and international laws aimed at combating child labour and achieving social justice for all. How businesses can be made to maintain supply chain transparency, responsible sourcing, and supplier audits to ensure ethical labour practices? What role that different stakeholders, viz. trade unions, international agencies, CSOs, workers' collectives, communities, and others can play in developing and executing long-term sustainable strategies to address child labour in supply chains.
