The Punjab Pollution Control Board organised a meeting with brick-kiln owners of the Payal region here on Friday. Environmental Engineer Avtar Singh and Assistant Environmental Engineer Ravideep Singla apprised the brick-kiln owners of the new firing design - zig-zag firing - with inducted draft technology. They said the inducted draft technology was more efficient than the earlier installed bull-trench technology and would help reduce the coal consumption and pollution. Brick-kiln representatives were guided to use fly-ash content while moulding the bricks which will reduce the manufacturing cost by saving material cost and firing cost.
